The Moreton Set of 2 Gyotaku Fish Framed Prints celebrates the traditional Japanese art of Gyotaku, a 19th-century technique in which a real fish is inked and pressed onto paper to capture its natural form and intricate detail. Inspired by the family in South Africa, who introduced this specialist printmaking method to Jason and his family, these pieces reflect our admiration for its raw, organic beauty. Drawing on those artistic explorations, we developed our own interpretations - honouring the texture, movement and quiet drama that make Gyotaku such a timeless and expressive art form.
